Mmmmm.... 15 Mbps

I love you, Utopia. Mmmm... broadband.

Now... if only I can navigate the many websites describing Wi-Fi on Linux, and which versions of which cards of which brands of wi-fi cards work consistently... Ugh. Maybe I'll just string a cat5 cable into the other room.

15Mbps? Lightweight.

Sounds like that shoddy DSL stuff. Once you go cable, you'll never go back - 100Mbps, baby!

Isn't that just on your internal network behind your router? Here, Comcast only offers 6Mbps download speeds.

Here's AT&T's comparison: http://www.usa.att.com/fiber/compare/services.jsp

Curses, foiled again.

My actual download speed is only 3.3 megabits per second (I hadn't thought to look any further than the "local area network" connection speed before today).

I'll get you for this, teev. Oh, I'll make you pay for bursting my bubble...

To further enflame your jealousy, I downloaded the 3.2 GB DVD ISO for Fedora Core 5 today in about 30 minutes.

It was odd to feel dissapointed at only getting about 1.7M/s download speed.
